We got the <a href=\"\/continental-sportcontact-7\/\">Continental SportContact 7<\/a>, the ultimate everyday performance tyre, which won 7 of the 8 tests it was featured in, the <a href=\"\/goodyear-eagle-f1-asymmetric-6\/\">Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6<\/a>, which offers very similar qualities for a better price and in slightly different dimensions. We also have the <a href=\"\/michelin-pilot-sport-5\/\">Michelin Pilot Sport 5<\/a> in the same segment, but little more focused on wet performance and durability. The biggest news is the<strong> <a href=\"\/continental-ecocontact-7\/\">Continental EcoContact 7<\/a><\/strong>, replacing the 6th model, which was introduced back in 2020. By introducing this tyre, Continental shows that it will not introduce a special naming for it\u2019s EV products like some of the competitors, as they will probably be the standard eventually. We haven\u2019t got any tests yet, but from what Continental says about the tyre, the main focus is the rolling resistance and the fuel savings that go along with it. That makes a lot of sense as the EVs get more spread and range is the main concern, but also with the current ICE cars that are sold have to have the lowest emissions possible, in which the tyres help a lot. The focus is also on noise, which Continental lowered by narrowing the gaps in the tread. If the tyre will have foam filling like it\u2019s competitors in all dimensions is yet to be revealed. Also, Continental addressed the problem with the tyre having different qualities in different dimensions and paid special focus on crafting each variant individually. There is going to be even a special \u201cS\u201d version, which suggests its use for sportier EVs that require better handling.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetirelab.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image-1024x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3470\" srcset=\"https:\/\/testshin.net.ua\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image-1024x1024.png 1024w, https:\/\/testshin.net.ua\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/testshin.net.ua\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/testshin.net.ua\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/testshin.net.ua\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image-1536x1536.png 1536w, https:\/\/testshin.net.ua\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image.png 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Continental has also introduced another new model, the UltraContact NXT, which is quite specific; 65% of it is made from recycled materials. It&#8217;s main focus is sustainability, while keeping the high standard of performance Continental tyres have. One of them is the <strong><a href=\"\/hankook-ion-evo\/\">Hankook iON Evo<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/hankook-ion-evo-suv-ik01a\/\">ION Evo SUV<\/a><\/strong>, which got a lot of credit by being the OEM tyre for the <a href=\"\/magpost\/2616\">new Tesla Model 3 Highland<\/a>, being a large contributor to the extended range the new model provides. I hope we can get a direct comparison of the new tyres as it will be very interesting to see which tyres provide the most range while maintaining sporty handling. There is also a new budget option, the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/falken-e-ziex\/\">Falken e.Ziex<\/a><\/strong>, which got a nice 4th place in the 2023 Automotorsport test for being a nice balance between lower rolling resistance and safety, while \u201csluggish\u201d steering being criticized, and a <strong>Pirelli Scorpion Elect, <\/strong>which is little bit too \u201ceco\u201d, judged by the results of the same test. Half way between the EV and regular tyres is the Bridgestone Turanza 6, which also decided not to make EV specific tyres &#8211; they optimize the current line-up instead. While the Turanza 6 is a good all-rounder, I would suggest it only when the price is lower than other premium competitors, like the Conti PremiumContact 7 or the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is also a bunch of regular tyres that were introduced &#8211; there is the <strong><a href=\"\/vredestein-ultrac-pro\/\">Vredestein Ultrac Pro<\/a>, <\/strong>a new UHP tyre from the dutch manufacturer, that promises a great performance for a affordable price and is yet to be tested, the <strong><a href=\"\/firestone-firehawk-sport\/\">Firestone Firehawk Sport<\/a><\/strong>, which already got tested and is a nice very affordable sporty tyre or the <strong><a href=\"\/yokohama-advan-sport-v107\/\">Yokohama Advan Sport V107<\/a><\/strong><strong>, <\/strong>which got the \u201cBest for track\u201d rating by TyreReviews.com.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Summary\"><\/span>Summary<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>So what to buy for the new summer season? More than ever, it depends on your priorities &#8211; on one side, there are traditional\u00a0 performance tyres and on the other, there are tyres focused mainly on ecology, which thanks to newer technologies got to a state where they are safe, but just don\u2019t deliver the joy of driving as much as the performance tyres.
